About the General Inspectorate

Mandate and Role

The General Inspectorate performs tasks of importance for strengthening legality, professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct within the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through oversight, preventive, and advisory activities, it contributes to protecting the integrity of the defence system and strengthening trust in institutions.

• monitoring and improving standards of professional and ethical conduct;
• providing advisory support on issues of integrity and accountability;
• strengthening preventive mechanisms against irregularities and abuse;
• promoting a culture of legality, accountability, and transparency;
• supporting the development of institutional mechanisms for reporting and processing irregularities.
